The Slip (Halo 27) fue lanzado el 5 de mayo de 2008 de forma gratuíta en la pagina oficial de nin ( theslip.nin.com ). El disco sigue la linea comenzada con Year Zero, con guitarras sucias, bases electrónicas... Discipline, el único single salio el 22 de abril de 2008.
